KitchenAid KHB300 Hand Blender Reviews

Six reviews of the KitchenAid KHB300 Hand Blender

1、I owned this for 14 months and loved it. I used it to make all types of things and it was really handy to own. When I purchased it I skipped over the lesser models planning to own this for a long time. I should have saved my money. One day as I am pureeing some soup it just stopped working. Nothing. Of course I was a few months past the warranty so I was stuck. Now I am buying a less expensive model with the plan of replacing it every so often.

To it’s credit I cook a lot and I use my equipment a lot. Reading the reviews of people that love this and call it tough, I imagine they do not do as much as I do. Because of that they might get five years if they are lucky. In my book that is not good enough for this price tag.

So if you are an occasional cook and color and brand name matter buy this. Otherwise save the money.

2、This is one of the best kitchen appliances I have ever bought. It’s versatile, compact, quiet, powerful, and easy to clean. I cook a lot and have used the KitchenAid immersion blender to make smoothies, to whip egg whites and cream (using the whisk attachment), to chop fruits and vegetables (using the food processor attachment), and to puree soups. It crushes ice and frozen fruit quickly and quietly. My only substantive complaint so far is that the food processor has a tendency to puree rather than to chop, so you have to use very short pulses and check after each one. You don’t end up with a nice uniform dice, but it’s good enough for home cooking. Also, the food processor is fairly small, which is fine if you have a 1-2 person household like mine, but may not be sufficient if you’re cooking for a large family. Finally, I wish the blender came in stainless steel along with the plastic finishes, but I can’t really complain about something that trivial when a machine works this well!

3、We recently replaced our Cuisinart hand blender that lasted a year and half with the KitchenAid. I researched online for the one with the best ratings.

We use ours daily to make smoothies for breakfast, so it is put through its paces. I do like the fact that it has 9 speed settings, which allow you to slightly mash up to whip items. It has a more powerful motor than the Cuisinart and the mixing cup is 3 cups vs 2 cups with the Cuisinart.

This model also comes with a chopper and a whisk. We decided these were great additions to have as well and have come in handy with less cleanup than using a standard blender.

Unfortunately, this model has the same weak point as the Cuisinart. In the main body where the stick attaches, the piece that holds the stick and controls it is only made of a hard plastic. This is what broke on the Cuisinart, but we are hoping that it does not happen with the this one and that it last longer than a year and a half.

4、I was very concerned before buying this product because it was only 200 watts. I owned Braun 200 watts before and was not that happy with its performance. My sister had Braun 400 watts and hers was quite powerful when it came to chopping. But unfortunately, Braun doesn’t sell anything beyond 200 Watts in US, so I settled for KitchenAid after reading all the good reviews about it even though it was little expensive than the other makes.

But I am really amazed how powerful this 200 Watts gadget is. Its extremely fast and effective, I must say better than Braun 400 Watts even on speed 1.Chopper works excellent on onions, Tamotoes, veggies and have saved so much of my time.It actually chops them to the finest possible and gravies have become an easy job now. Blender works just fine too.I just wish they had a bigger beaker than this size.I haven’t used whisk yet so I am unable to comment about that.Cleaning the unit is easy too.

Also, I am glad that its being of steel/ and black in color decoloring will be minimum esp with spices like turmeric which had decolored my old braun.

I am extremely glad that I made this choice. Cooking has become lot more easier now.

And yeah, delivery was smooth and intime.

5、This hand blender has been all we could have hoped for. Well made and should last for years. I especially like the variable speeds which most hand mixers don’t offer. Have yet to use all the accessories but will in due time. Owned one other varible speed unit purchased through a popular TV shopping network show and it just didn’t hold up at all. Big name but lacking in quality. Always sworn by KitchenAid products and this handy unit comes highly recommended. It easily meets or exceeds this homes standards.

6、I’ve been using this blender for a few weeks and I absolutely love it. It’s small enough that it easily slips into a drawer with my other cooking utensils, doesn’t require a lot of counter space, and has enough power to handle everyday mixing tasks. I also really like that it came with its own bag allowing me to store the mixer on a ceiling or wall rack.

UPDATE: I bought one of these for my mom about six months ago and she initially more-or-less shrugged and tossed it in a cabinet without giving it a second thought. A month or so later she decided to use it to make smoothies instead of breaking out the “big blender” and she can’t stop raving about this little hand-held wonder tool. A few days later I noticed her “big blender” was stored in a very inconvenient location in the pantry. When I asked her about it, she said didn’t use the “big blender” any more.

1、I have enjoyed using my hand blender. The blender attachment purees very quickly. The whisk does a fine job and it only takes a few seconds to whip up eggs. I can use the low speed for a lot of things. The 9 speeds are not necessary but do give anyone who wants a choice. I like the size of the chopper bowl which is larger than the old Braun hand blender I had. This unit is much more solid and sturdy compared to the Braun. The storage bag for all the attachments is also nice to have. I don’t have to search all through my cabinet for the parts for this hand blender. I do not have any trouble with the size of this blender either even with my small hands. If you want a good solid hand blender that will last for a long time, get this one. In fact, get anything Kitchenaid.

2、I am a very avid home cook. I bought this to replace my Oster blender that worked well, but the plastic vessel kept cracking due to the heat from my soups. This blends so well that I have to use it near its lowest setting because it’s so powerful. The first time I set it at 8 and found that after you use it on such a high setting instead of a nice blend you actually have foam… (4 works nicely) After I dried my tears of laughter at the outcome I then proceeded to clean the kitchen because it flew everywhere resembling the result of taking a boat propeller to a small pot of soup. I suggest you first try it on 2 and work your way up if you dare. This is a must have for the real home cook.

3、I love my new KitchenAid KHB300ER immersion blender. I have had it a little over one month. It works great. I use it several times a week cooking for a family of 3-4 and occasionally entertaining. I have pureed large and small pots of soup and made milkshakes with the immersion attachment. I use the chopper attachment frequently chopping all sorts of fruits and veggies. It easily chops with both coarse and fine texture. The whisk also works well, although I have not tried it out as much. It is easy to clean and store. I highly recommend this product. If you are short on kitchen space this could easily replace your blender, mixer, and food processor.

4、I was just looking for a quality immersion blender for my husbands multiple-protein-shake-a-day habit. The chopper part was an unexpected bonus. We love it! I like that the blender is detatchable for cleaning and the chopper does an amazing job. Even with carrots. I barely chunk them up and then put more in than I think I should and it evenly chops the hole load. Only bummer is it’s tough to get the lid off the chopper container. I’m sure I’ll get better with more use. It seems sturdy and well made, we’ll see over time. Well worth the money at this point!

5、I received my Red KitchenAid blender for Christmas and fell in love. Other immersion blenders were a joke, but this one had some serious power. I used the whisk attachment to make easy mayo and hollandaise and the puree attachment to make soups. Great. Used it almost every day. Then, while pureeing potato leek soup, the inner rubber gasket of the immersion blender fell apart. The blade chopped slivers of it into my soup! Luckily I noticed and strained the soup, and lost over half of it…. but now its broken. Glad I noticed and didn’t just serve the soup. The immersion blender creates a huge suction, especially on a high setting like i had it on, but if the dial reads 1-9 it SHOULD be able to handle going to 9.

Hopefully Kitchenaid will replace it fast and free for me, as i’ve had it for only a month!! Disappointing. I loved it before this happened. We’ll see how customer service is…

UPDATE:
Called KitchenAid, they’re sending me a brand new machine with a free return shipping box for the old machine I have ( they would like me to return the entire old machine to be inspected) I can live with that. Hopefully the new immersion blender won’t experience this same problem…
